Not sure which is nuttier, subpoenas being issued by the recording industry or the "subpoena database" that lets you check and see if your name is on the "hit list" of music pirates.

Glad to see Internet service providers fighting back against the pathetic record industry. I predict we will see a major boycott of CD music sales this fall as the legal battle escalates. Then maybe music sales will drop 40 or 50 percent and the industry's inevitable demise will be accelerate. Let's put the big 5 out of their misery!

Not particularly constructive this comment but I would just like to say that Elton John is a Fkgidnhkirek head! God I can’t stick the bloke, haven’t got a problem with gays but that guy is such a puff. There I said it, just had to get that off my chest ;)

Uh...it's probably not a devastating thing to be using their search engine just to see if they have your name or IP. ctually it says they only have 2,444 subpoenas, so it's not really a complete listing.
But giving a third party something to cull thru, such as a list of folks that are wondering if their time might be up or are just worried about their private affairs,it might not be the advantagous place to leave your ip or supposed name.
Whoever is requesting identification would require the provider to make the user distinction and I question if it would require being the same as what's on the subpoenas.
