Contract, with option to go full time.

Description is as follows:
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS - REQUIRED
• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience (ideally incorporating VB, SQL 2000, or alternatively, C, C++, C#).
• 4 years experience in VB SQL development most recently under Visual Studio Dot Net.
• At least 3 years of experience with MS SQL Server most recently SQL Server 2005.
• Adhere to and where necessary drive the development and continual improvement of standards, processes and procedures for the department and the company that will increase productivity and revenue. This requires programs to be delivered to the highest standard of quality in order to meet or exceed clients’ expectations.
• Work by and enforce existing standards.
• Provide feedback to IS Manager with respect to: attention to approach, consistency, re-usability, quality, documentation style, completeness and development methodology.
• Provide high-level technical support to all team members both during and after business hours.
• Develop systems that increase operational throughput, improve efficiency, and reduce operating costs on an ongoing basis
• Create code that is robust, scalable and modular.
• Be familiar object oriented analysis and design.

DECISION MAKING & PROBLEM SOLVING
• Design and architect programs in conjunction with peer members.
• Participate in review process to finalize new systems.
• Review code and develop scripts for promotion of software to production.
• Responsibility for code in the live production environment.
• Problems lack prior definition. Solutions may involve strategic thinking or abstract reasoning where precedent or policy may not be established, or may involve the development of new theoretical opinions or techniques.
• Identify potential problems and find a solution that removes the risk from the application and is also acceptable to the client. Alternately determine what issues must be escalated to the IS Manager.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Trouble shooting, maintenance and upgrades of systems.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS - OPTIONAL
• Experience in Administrating IIS.
• Ability to manage code versions using Visual Source Safe.
• Experience with retail eCommerce sites design and support.
• Support of AIX CRON Jobs.
• Familiar with PHP, XML and a SAX Parser.
• Ability to support movement of large amounts of information between disparate systems using predominately Data Transformation Services or Integrations Services.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting web services.
